Went here with a couple friends on a Friday evening and had a really nice experience. The food came out hot and full of flavor. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy inside, and the mac and cheese was probably my favorite thing on the plate. Service was friendly and checked on us just enough without being overbearing. The place has a comfortable, laid-back vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. Portions were decent too. Definetly a spot I'd come back to when I'm craving some good soul food.

Historical food restaurant. Family operated. I loved my sides. Fried chicken was bruised and could have been cooked a few minutes longer. I've eaten here several times and food is pretty much good and tasty..a good to spot when I'm in High Point.

Hands down the BEST fried chicken Iβve ever eaten! Crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The mac and cheese, collard greens, and potato salad were all AMAZING too. Every single thing we had was delicious. You absolutely cannot go wrong eating here! The lemonade is on point also! Just a heads up they are cash only, so come prepared. Definitely worth it!

I decided to try this place after the rave reviews on her chicken, collards, and yams. I got the chicken, yams, collards, mixed vegetables, and corn bread. It was $16 even. The portions were huge. Here's the breakdown. The chicken was awful. It was actually some of the worst that I have had. The breading tasted like pure flour. It had no seasoning except for a weird sweet flavor in the meat itself. The yams had so much clove in them that even after adding cinnamon, they were still inedible. The collards were sweet. Yuck. The mixed vegetables and the cornbread were the best thing on the plate. I definitely do not recommend. I know that I will not be going back.

I went to Becky's and Mary's Restaurant today for lunch. I was so impressed that I had to write a review immediately upon getting home. Mary was working in the kitchen and in addition to the meals my friend and I had, she wanted us to try a few other things she made that day. We ended up getting the fried chicken and collard greens for me, the pork chops and potato salad for my friend, and a sample of the mixed vegetables and chicken and dumplings. Everything we had was seasoned and cooked perfectly! In addition, the service was top notch. Every employee that we saw smiled at us and made us feel welcome. Get yourself to Becky's and Mary's. You won't regret it.
